Purchasing and Inventory Control Associate
Tier One Transmissions – Phoenix, AZ

Tier One Transmissions, a leading Diesel transmission remanufacturer in Phoenix, AZ, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Purchasing and Inventory Control Associate to join our team. Key Responsibilities
As a Purchasing and Inventory Control Associate, you will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of components and the meticulous management of our inventory. Your duties will include:
- Purchasing
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly spending budgets to Finance team for approval
- Procurement of transmission components and shop supplies from established vendors
- Ensure optimal value and quality of products
- Inventory Management
- Maintaining accurate inventory records
- Monitor stock levels
- Conduct regular cycle counts
- Coordinate physical inventory processes
- Eliminate / Minimize shortages and overstock
- Process returns and warranties
- Generate reports for management analysis
- Logistics and Receiving
- Prompt and effective shipping of product to customers
- Small package carrier (UPS)
- LTL freight
- Timely and accurate receiving of incoming products
- Efficient distribution of parts to the proper team members in house
- Prompt and effective shipping of product to customers
- Cost Control:
- Forecast needs in an effort to help develop effective purchasing habits
- Implementing strategies to reduce acquisition and possession costs without compromising quality or production schedules
Qualifications
- Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in purchasing and inventory control, specifically within the automotive industry
- Experience with Powertrain, Transmissions, and Diesel Pickup components is required
- Experience with shipping/receiving processes
- Knowledge
- Strong understanding of automotive components, especially related to Diesel transmissions
- Strong understanding of the transmission remanufacturing process

- Proven negotiation skills

- High level of proficiency with inventory management software

- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
