Billing Specialist (Contract - Backfill) Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Specialist to support a time-sensitive backfill assignment for a 6-9 month contract engagement. This role will be responsible for managing daily billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, maintaining billing data integrity, and supporting cross-functional teams with billing-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while delivering a positive customer experience. Location - Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid - reporting into Scottsdale office) Type - Contract (6-9 months) Compensation - $24 - $28 per hour Key Responsibilities
- Execute all billing functions accurately and within established timelines
- Generate, validate, and distribute invoices in alignment with contract terms and company policies
- Maintain billing schedules and monitor contract usage, pricing, renewals, and adjustments
- Perform billing reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to invoicing or contract data
- Analyze billing trends, usage patterns, and variances against budget
- Partner with Sales to ensure accurate order setup and closure
- Process billing adjustments and credits per approval guidelines
- Respond to internal and external billing inquiries regarding invoices and account details
- Maintain accurate records within the billing/accounting system, including high-volume data entry
- Support month-end close activities and assist with reporting and audit requests
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and scalability
- Minimum 3+ years of billing or accounts receivable experience with a strong focus on billing operations
- Experience with international billing or multi-currency environments preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Great Plains, Solomon, WorldPay, Authorize.Net)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data entry capabilities
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and compliance standards
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a global team
