Senior Software Engineer

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Scottsdale. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and scale the core systems that power Ruck’s delivery platform. You’ll work on high-impact projects — from optimizing backend services to improving real-time delivery tracking — and help shape the architecture that supports our expanding user base.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver solutions that are robust, reliable, and user-focused.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend and frontend systems that drive the Ruck platform.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code using modern frameworks and development practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and data teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers to foster continuous learning and code quality.
• Optimize system performance, security, and reliability for a growing customer base.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in scalable or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of API design, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and version control (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
