Wyyerd Fiber is seeking a Director, Procurement & Materials Management who will be responsible for planning, procurement, inventory, and distribution of all materials, equipment, and supplies required to support company operations. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of materials to support network deployment, maintenance, and expansion.
About This RoleThe Director, Procurement & Materials Management is a critical position within the Wyyerd team and ecosystem. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process and managing the flow of materials within Wyyerd. This includes developing and implementing procurement strategies, identifying cost savings opportunities, forecasting, budget development and tracking, and supplier management. The Director, Procurement & Materials Management is responsible for managing a team of Material Logistics Managers in Arizona and California. This individual will also be responsible for developing, launching and refining a materials management software tool within Wyyerd’s internal software platform. The role reports directly to Wyyerd’s CFO.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic materials management plans aligned with operational objectives.
Oversee procurement, warehousing, inventory control, and logistics for all materials, including network equipment, parts, and supplies
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for cost, efficiency, and supply chain effectiveness.
Lead and mentor the materials management team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies for material handling and storage.
Develop and implement an RFP (Request for Proposal) process to create a competitive pricing environment for all materials utilized by Wyyerd in the design, construction and maintenance of it’s network assets
Travel as necessary
SKILLS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
A minimum of 10 years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within telecommunications or related industries
Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
Experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
