POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Grounds/Landscaping Supervisor, responsible for the overall upkeep of the entire Casino premises in relation to the cleanliness, appearance, and the condition of landscaping items and features.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
The list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.
- Maintains and operates irrigation/sprinkler systems.
- Operates and maintains various power/hand tools such as lawn mower, weed trimmer, rakes, etc., used for the cultivation of agriculture.
- Performs clean up duties of entire premises on a routine basis.
- Performs functions such as transplanting, basic pest control, pruning and trimming, and other landscaping duties.
- Performs inventory of items he/she is responsible for.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of materials, methods, practices and equipment used in grounds keeping and landscaping activities.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices used in irrigation, planting and gardening.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices, and safety precautions in accordance with applicable state, county, or federal laws and regulations regarding workplace safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is generally performed in an outdoors setting. Exposure to natural weather conditions, various dusts and mists, and normal debris and hazards common at landscaping sites may occur while performing outdoor duties. Prolonged standing and walking may be on uneven surfaces or unstable ground. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; and walk. The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
