Sr Data Scientist

Lead the development and implementation of advanced data science models. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements. Drive best practices in data science. Prepare reports and updates to senior management regarding the above activities Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. The GFC Analytics organization is looking for an incredibly talented, self-motivated and analytical individual to join the Detections & Oversight Team. This person will be responsible for development of AML and Brand Risk Management (BRM) transaction monitoring rules to provide risk coverage, as well as tuning and optimization of transaction monitoring rules to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the rules, thereby supporting the Global Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing (AML /CTF) policy, BRM policy to detect Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) violations, and other GFC strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in data and statistical analysis techniques, as well as GFC policies and understanding of global AML regulations. Minimum of three years of experience in the field ofAML transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and AML/CFT Minimum of two years of experience working with development, tuning and optimization of AML transaction monitoring rules and reports, by leveraging data and statistical analysis techniques to derive thresholds, identify outliers and utilize statistical sampling techniques to facilitate above-the-line and below-the-line testing Thorough understanding of AML typologies, as well as transaction monitoring processes used to mitigate these risk typologies Good understanding of transaction monitoring systems - custom built or vendor systems such as Oracle Mantas, Actimize etc. - and the standard monitoring rules/scenarios offered Strong research and analytical skills, business acumen, strategic and creative thinking, project leadership skills and multi-tasking capabilities Experience in building and developing models, queries, or software to analyze and visualize data using tools such as Tableau Ability to analyze large sets of complex data, draw meaningful conclusions, and make business recommendations based on analysis Ability to work in multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic financial services environment Experience in developing documentation that meets the highest regulatory standards and audit requirements Ability to take initiative and execute against key projects independently Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilities Experience in distilling and presenting complex quantitative analysis to business users
