PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5-axis mills

Shift : 1st shift Monday-Friday 7am-4pm (overtime is encouraged and at times mandatory)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 5-Axis CNC Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and part quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation of setups, tool changes, and production logs.
• Collaborate with engineers and programmers to optimize machining processes.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in setting up 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls.
• Ability to machine materials such as Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel.
• Proficiency in G-code and CNC programming.
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience setting up 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience with CAM software is a plus.
• Familiarity with machines such as Haas and Method Machine CNC machines.
• Experience in aerospace, medical device, firearms, or automotive manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
