Amazon XL Warehouse Equipment Operator
Basic Job Requirements
- Be 18 years or older
- Understand and follow instructions in English
- Lift up to 49 pounds
- Use safe handling practices for products weighing more than 50 pounds, employing team lifting techniques when required
- Stand and walk, as well as push, pull, squat, bend, and reach frequently during shifts
- Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
- Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
- Safely manage heavy bulk items, including becoming a certified heavy equipment operator on powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts. Youll receive hands-on training.
- Operate powered industrial equipment (similar to forklifts) reaching up to 45 feet high—full certification and safety training provided at no cost
- Handle extra-large items through multiple warehouse processes: stowing, picking, loading, and unloading
- Store large inventory items in their designated warehouse locations
- Locate and retrieve customer orders efficiently using powered industrial trucks
- Safely move heavy items using carts, dollies, and pallet jacks while loading and unloading trailers
- Use handheld technology to track and maintain accurate inventory records
- Meet daily performance goals while following all safety procedures
- Shift Options. Early Morning, Daytime, Evening, and Overnight hours.
- Weekly Hours. Full-Time (40 hours), Reduced-Time (30-39 hours), Part-Time (20-29 hours), or Flex-Time (as little as 4 hours per week).
- Schedule Flexibility.Choose from a Fixed weekly schedule or Flexible schedules.
- Operating Hours. Our sites operate 24/7, which means more shift options for you.
- Safety. Your safety is our top priority. We provide protective gear and all teams share safety tips daily. Our state-of-the-art facilities are clean, well-organized, and designed with your safety in mind.
- Equipment.You’ll be operating and working around moving equipment – PIT equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, side riders and order pickers, as well as mobile carts, rolling cages.
- Physical Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.
- Temperature.Climate-controlled facilities maintain temperatures between 60°F and 90°F in most areas.
- Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
- Dress code.Dress comfortably—closed-toe shoes required. Protective safety footwear required in select areas.$110 Zappos gift code provided for your first day.
