Job Description
Turner & Townsend are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst with construction experience to join our dynamic team. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.Responsibilities:
- Gather, process, and analyze data from various sources to support construction project management and decision-making.
- Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports, and present data insights to stakeholders and internal teams.
- Create and apply statistical models to predict project outcomes, identify trends, and optimize construction processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by performing regular data quality checks and implementing data governance practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend data-driven solutions to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide training and support to end-users on new reports, dashboards, and data analysis tools.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Project Specifications:
- Project/Program specific responsibilities:
- Working with cost and project management stakeholders to streamline and automate business analytics reporting.
- Project Controls experience preferred including variance analysis, identifying and quantifying project risks and opportunities, contract cost review.
- Stakeholder management and client facing data analytics and business insight ideation.
- Market sector experience:
- Construction, Engineering, or Architecture industry experience preferred.
- Data center, high tech industrial, or commercial construction project experience preferred.
- Preferred experience in programs with greater than $100 million in construction cost per year.
- Software specific requirements:
- Power BI
- SQL
- Excel and Power Query
- Power Apps Preferred
- Certification requirements:
- Preferred: Python/Data Science/Analytics bootcamp
- Preferred: Power BI Data Analyst Associate PL-300 Microsoft Certification BI Data Analyst Associate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Expertise in using professional data analysis and visualization tools, along with proficiency in programming languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with construction management software and systems.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Certification in data analysis or related fields.
