This role represents the highest level of individual contributor for data engineering and is a natural progression toward Solutions or Data Architecture roles.\n\nAs a Principal Data Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex data pipelines and platforms, influence architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and mentor other engineers\u2014while remaining deeply hands on.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Design, build, and optimize scalable, reliable data pipelines and platforms\n * Lead technical implementation across ingestion, transformation, and data serving layers\n * Translate architectural direction into production ready engineering solutions\n * Influence and contribute to data platform and solution architecture decisions\n * Establish and enforce engineering standards, patterns, and best practices\n * Serve as a technical mentor and escalation point for senior and mid level engineers\n * Partner closely with architects, analytics, BI, and AI teams to deliver end to end solutions\n * Own performance tuning, reliability, and operational excellence of data systems\n * Review designs and code to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability\n * Stay current on modern data engineering tools, frameworks, and architectural trends\n\n\n\nTravel \u0026 Work Environment\n\n * Hybrid or remote work environment (US based)\n * Occasional travel to support planning, delivery, or team collaboration\n * Fast paced, collaborative engineering culture focused on quality and scale\n\n\n\nWhat we\u2019re looking for\n\n * 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development\n * Experience operating as a Senior or Principal level engineer on complex data initiatives\n * Strong expertise in data pipeline development (batch and/or streaming)\n * Deep hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)\n * Advanced SQL skills and solid experience with data modeling practices\n * Strong programming experience in Python, SQL, and/or Spark\n * Proven ability to influence technical direction without direct authority\n * Experience working in collaborative, cross functional environments\n * Ability to clearly communicate tradeoffs, risks, and implementation details\n\n\n\nCertifications\n\n * Cloud or data platform certifications preferred (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric, etc.)\n\n\n\nWhat you can expect \nWe\u2019re legendary for taking care of you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
