We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in Tempe, Arizona. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in billing and financial processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
Responsibilities:• Prepare and issue accurate invoices based on completed service activities, schedules, and customer agreements.
• Review billing data, service records, and pricing details to confirm compliance and completeness of invoices.
• Collaborate with operational and field teams to verify billable work and resolve any discrepancies.
• Ensure contract terms, rate structures, and customer requirements are accurately reflected in billing.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with customers to address unpaid or overdue invoices.
• Communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
• Assist in resolving disputes to facilitate timely payments and maintain account accuracy.
• Maintain billing schedules and track items that are unbilled or delayed.
• Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations and revenue reporting.
• Identify areas for improvement in billing accuracy, collection processes, and internal controls.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to handle high-volume transactional data.
• Experience with accounting or billing software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Viewpoint Vista.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure consistent accuracy in billing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and resolving billing issues.
• Familiarity with basic revenue recognition principles.
• Problem-solving skills and initiative to improve billing processes and efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience in billing, accounting, or a related field.
