Middle School History Teacher

Sonoran Science Academy Tucson is a STEM-focused public charter school providing a rigorous, college-prep education through a challenging curriculum and continuous assessment. SSA Tucson is looking for a Middle School History Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Your Role Will Include:

• Teaching middle school History courses, including U.S. History, World History, Government, and/or Economics as assigned.
• Developing engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that promote critical thinking and historical inquiry.
• Helping students analyze primary and secondary sources, evaluate evidence, and understand multiple historical perspectives.
• Fostering meaningful classroom discussions that encourage civic engagement and respectful debate.
• Using student data to differentiate instruction and support academic growth.
• Creating a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes student success.
• Collaborating with colleagues, families, and school leadership to support student achievement.
• Participating in school events, professional development, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
• Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate (preferred).
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Passion for student learning and a commitment to academic excellence.

Salary and Benefits:

• Pay Range: $55,000 - $62,750 annually.
