A CNC Setup Operator is responsible for preparing and configuring computer numerical control (CNC) machines for operation, ensuring they are set up correctly to produce parts according to specifications. This involves tasks like reading blueprints, selecting and installing tooling, setting up machine parameters, and conducting test runs to verify proper function. They also monitor machine performance, make adjustments as needed, and perform routine maintenance.

Shift : Mon - Fri: 2nd - 2:30pm - 11pm HAAS Experience Preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Reading and Interpreting Blueprints:

  Understanding technical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.

• Tooling Setup:

  Selecting, mounting, and aligning the correct tools for the job.

• Machine Programming:

  Loading or developing the appropriate program into the machine's controller.

• Setting Machine Parameters:

  Configuring cutting speeds, feed rates, and other settings for optimal performance.

• Test Runs and Verification:

  Conducting test cuts and using measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards. Close tolerance measuring +-.005 using calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc.

• Monitoring Machine Performance:

  Observing the machine during operation and making adjustments as needed.

• Troubleshooting:

  Identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the machining process.

• Routine Maintenance:

  Performing basic maintenance tasks to keep the machine in good working order.

• Safety Compliance:

  Following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
