Job Title: Quality of Care Investigative Nurse (RN)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Employment Type: Contract

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Quality of Care Investigative Nurse (RN) to support its Quality Management function. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive quality-of-care investigations to ensure member safety, well-being, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements.

• Conduct timely, thorough, and member-focused investigations into quality-of-care concerns
• Perform both individual (member-centric) and systemic investigations
• Develop and implement corrective action plans based on investigation findings
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address care issues
• Make appropriate referrals to oversight and regulatory agencies when required
• Participate in care concern reviews and urgent care issue resolutions
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation to support all investigations
• Request, review, and analyze medical records and related documentation
• Ensure all case information is properly documented and maintained in internal systems
• Upload required investigation documentation into designated quality management platforms
• Escalate trends, critical findings, or high-risk cases to leadership as appropriate

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Proficiency with technology, including databases, Microsoft Office, and electronic documentation systems
• Ability to prepare professional reports, summaries, and correspondence
• Strong research and investigative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities
• Experience with medical chart review and clinical documentation
• Knowledge of the nursing process (assessment, monitoring, evaluation)
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify issues and develop corrective action strategies

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
