Description

Scope and Purpose: This position assists golfing and non-golfing guests with retail purchases in the Golf Shop. Also assists with answering telephone and booking tee times.

Essential Functions:

• Checking in guests who are playing golf.
• Answering guests' questions about the golf course and the resort.
• Selling of merchandise on the Golf Shop sales floor to customers.
• Using the Point of Sale (POS) computer system to ring up transactions.
• Answering telephones and reserving tee times.
• Helping to stock merchandise and keep sales floor looking neat and clean
• Attend monthly and weekly staff meetings (including all safety meetings).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English
• Basic computer skills
• Must demonstrate exceptional guest service and public relations skills
• Must be able to perform professionally in a high volume, high profile, demanding environment

Physical Requirements: Constant standing, walking, reaching, grasping, seeing, hearing, talking. Frequent bending, stooping, pushing/pulling/lifting in excess of 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Work environment is typical of an indoor retail establishment. Inventory and storage areas may be dusty, especially during cleaning.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Previous golf shop or retail experience required.
• All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance suitable for public golf courses (specific standards available).

Pay: $15 per hour plus eligible for tournament gratuity and quarterly bonus program
