RN – Med/Surg (Level 1 Trauma Facility) ⚠️ Must Have Level 1 Trauma Experience ⚠️ No first-time travelers ⚠️ 50-mile radius rule (No local rates) – Driver’s License is source of truth ⚠️ Must pass DYS exam (2 attempts; fail = DNU 6 months for CS AZ & Sac Region) ⚠️ Travel teams must have own vehicle Professional Requirements Natural hair color only No facial piercings Men must be clean-shaven for fit test Pass/Fail exam on Day 1 of orientation SIMs Lab (Pass/Fail – strict sterile field compliance; failure may result in termination) SIMs Lab Includes: Foley catheter insertion Central line dressing changes (Required for St. Joseph Main & Westgate campuses) Unit Details Beds: 22 private rooms Ratios: 1:4–5 Common Diagnoses: Post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, infections Certifications Required: BLS Experience Required Recent Med/Surg experience (Required) Level 1 Trauma experience (Required) Telemetry experience (Preferred – may float) Charge experience (Preferred) Drips Heparin only No cardiac drips Support & Scheduling Charge RN (out of count) House Supervisor 24/7 RT assigned to unit No PCTs (Resource RN available) Self-scheduling (4 weeks at a time) 3 weekend days per pay period (Sat/Sun) Holidays required No call Floating Other Med/Surg/Tele units (Travelers float first) ICU ratio if floated: 1:3 Scrubs & Orientation Navy Blue scrubs 2 shifts unit orientation
