Engineering Intern (Project Engineering)
Salary: $20–$22/hour (based on experience)

Position Summary
The Engineering Intern will support cross-functional engineering projects and manufacturing initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in a precision machining environment. This role provides exposure to project execution, process development, continuous improvement, and production optimization. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support & Execution
- Assist in engineering projects from concept through implementation
- Support development of project plans, timelines, and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain
- Track project tasks, milestones, and deliverables
Manufacturing & Process Support
- Assist in developing and documenting manufacturing processes
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and production readiness efforts
- Help analyze workflows, layouts, and material flow for efficiency improvements
- Participate in initiatives focused on cost reduction, yield improvement, and cycle-time reduction
Quality & Compliance
- Support compliance with AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO, and internal quality standards
- Assist with documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, and control plans
- Participate in root cause analysis activities (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D)
- Work with Quality Engineering on corrective and preventive actions
Continuous Improvement
- Assist with Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities
- Support standardization and best practice implementation
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Strong academic performance and interest in manufacturing or engineering projects
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings (preferred but not required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience
- Exposure to manufacturing, machining, automotive, or aerospace environments
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts
- Experience with CAD software or ERP/MRP systems is a plus
