This role may be based remotely in either the San Diego, California or Phoenix, Arizona area. Candidates must be locally based in one of these two markets to be considered.
In this role, you will serve as a regional Channel Marketing lead, developing and executing programs that strengthen distributor engagement, increase visibility and adoption of Renesas new product introductions (NPIs) and solution portfolios, and generate application-level business opportunities through early customer engagement.
You will focus primarily on Industrial and Building Automation applications, including HVAC, smart access and door-lock systems, building security, industrial controls, energy-related applications, and other connected technologies supporting next-generation smart buildings and automation.
Working closely with Sales, Product Groups, FAEs, Business Development, the Solutions Team, and local distributor partners, you will develop regional engagement strategies, lead distributor and customer meetings, identify emerging opportunities, and ensure channel partners have the technical and commercial knowledge needed to effectively position Renesas solutions.
This role combines channel strategy, product marketing, customer engagement, and business development, with a strong emphasis on translating Renesas technologies into practical, application-focused solutions that address customer and market needs.
Responsibilities
Channel Strategy & Engagement
- Partner with Product Groups and the Solutions Team to understand upcoming solution and NPI release roadmaps and translate them into regional channel engagement plans.
- Develop and execute marketing programs that increase distributor awareness, readiness, and adoption of Renesas solutions and new products.
- Collaborate with Sales to establish distributor- and account-specific engagement strategies aligned with regional business priorities.
- Coordinate regional activities around product launches, solution campaigns, and strategic market initiatives.
Customer & Distributor Engagement
- Lead presentations, workshops, and technical marketing sessions with distributor partners and mass-market customers.
- Drive early customer engagement around new solutions and NPIs to identify application-level business opportunities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key distributor organizations, customers, and ecosystem partners.
- Identify solution- and product-level opportunities, competitive differentiation, and emerging customer requirements across priority industrial market segments.
- Partner with field teams to convert identified opportunities into actionable customer engagements and business growth.
Solution Enablement & Market Development
- Drive the positioning and promotion of application-focused solutions across Industrial and Building Automation markets.
- Enable distributor and sales teams with the messaging, use cases, market context, and solution knowledge required to effectively position Renesas offerings.
- Champion cross-business and system-level solution initiatives that bring together technologies from multiple Renesas product portfolios.
- Communicate the value and differentiation of Renesas solutions within targeted industrial applications.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Market Intelligence
- Serve as a regional connector across Business Development, Sales, FAEs, Marketing, Product Groups, and Solutions teams.
- Facilitate collaboration across internal organizations to align customer opportunities with Renesas technologies and product roadmaps.
- Represent regional customer and channel requirements in corporate product, marketing, and solution-planning discussions.
- Capture competitive intelligence, customer feedback, market trends, and unmet application needs and communicate insights back to relevant business units.
- Help influence future solution development, positioning, and NPI priorities based on regional market opportunities.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in business development, product or channel marketing, technical sales, or a related customer-facing commercial role, preferably within the semiconductor or electronics industry.
- Must be locally based in either the San Diego, CA or Phoenix, AZ area and able to regularly engage with distributor partners, customers, and Renesas teams throughout the region.
- Strong understanding of Industrial markets, with experience in areas such as Building Automation, Industrial Automation, Smart Infrastructure, or Energy.
- Demonstrated success developing distributor, customer, and ecosystem relationships and converting market opportunities into business growth.
- Experience supporting new product introductions, solution launches, channel enablement, or go-to-market initiatives.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical products and solutions in an application- and customer-focused manner.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, analytical skills, and communication capabilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Sales, FAEs, Product Management, Marketing, Business Development, and other functions within a global matrixed organization.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- A technical or engineering background is preferred.
