Infrastucture Engineer - Local to Phoenix, AZ

Position Description
This role will be filled from the client site 5 days a week in Phoenix, AZ only.

CGI is seeking a highly motivated Infrastructure Engineer in Phoenix AZ to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure platforms for a major banking client. This role will be responsible for maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure environments across servers, databases, middleware, networking, and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting complex enterprise systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive mindset toward automation, reliability, and operational excellence.

Your future duties and responsibilities
. Manage and support enterprise infrastructure environments across:
. Linux/Unix and Windows servers
. Virtualized and cloud environments
. Middleware and application hosting platforms
. Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and system availability
. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, outages, and performance bottlenecks
. Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure components
. Collaborate with application, database, network, security, and DevOps teams
. Implement infrastructure automation and operational improvements
. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and support continuous improvement initiatives
. Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams
. Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and banking regulatory requirements
. Support disaster recovery, backup, and high availability strategies
. Participate in on-call support rotations and incident management processes

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix and Windows server administration
• 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure monitoring and observability tools
• Strong experience with Server provisioning and configuration management
• Good knowledge of Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, Firewalls); Enterprise storage and backup solutions
• 5+ years of experience with Shell scripting; Python or Powershell
• Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines & DevOps practices
• Experience supporting Enterprise applications & middleware platforms
• Experience supporting database environments (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management capabilities
• Experience performing root cause analysis (RCA)
• Understanding of system performance tuning and capacity planning
• Experience working in high-availability and mission-critical environments

Desired Skills:
• Experience in Banking or Financial services industry is a plus
• Exposure to cloud platforms – AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or Prometheus
