ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Site Superintendent at Z Modular, you will play a key role in managing and executing ground-up multifamily modular construction projects from the field. This position requires strong leadership, technical construction knowledge, and a commitment to safety and project quality—and offers the opportunity to directly impact schedule performance, site coordination, and client satisfaction.

You will collaborate with subcontractors, project managers, internal departments, and local officials to ensure smooth site operations, adherence to safety standards, and successful project delivery. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Greater Austin, with daily construction site presence required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Project Planning & Management

• Manages daily field operations and subcontractor coordination to maintain schedules, quality, and safety standards
• Develops work sequencing strategies, laydown plans, and temporary facility layouts for modular projects
• Maintains and updates three-week look-ahead schedules in collaboration with project staff
• Reviews and executes project plans and specifications; ensures compliance with manufacturers' data and documentation
• Tracks schedule progress and budget performance; provides regular updates to stakeholders

Construction Coordination & Oversight

• Leads daily on-site construction meetings with foremen, subcontractors, and team leads
• Oversees field activities, ensuring high-quality construction and adherence to the project schedule
• Reviews submittals for compliance prior to field execution
• Assists in generating and managing RFIs and tracks impacts on project timelines

Safety & Compliance

• Enforces compliance with Z Modular and OSHA safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Coordinates with inspectors and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals
• Promotes safe work practices through active engagement and oversight

Team Leadership & Development

• Mentors and supports field personnel to foster professional development
• Collaborates closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and the General Superintendent
• Maintains strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintains accurate daily logs, field reports, RFIs, and field orders
• Performs other duties as needed to support overall project goal

WHO YOU ARE

• 10+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent, preferably in ground-up commercial or multifamily construction
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety certifications preferred
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in the essential job functions

WHAT YOU KNOW

• Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical data
• Experienced in managing modular or prefabricated projects (preferred but not required)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, scheduling software (MS Project or similar), and CAD/CAE tools
• Strong team leadership, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management skills
• Deep understanding of jobsite safety, compliance, and inspection protocols
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
