Experience what's next at Avnet! **Job Summary:** Oversees global logistics team responsible for guiding and driving warehouse best in class standards, freight optimization, trade operations and strategic action project management. Responsible for some or all of the following processes: best in class standards for freight analytics and optimization, trade operations, packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, stock handling, storing, distribution and inventory support. Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides oversight and direction for assigned employees, financial and operational activities. **Principal Responsibilities:** + Driving Global Freight optimization in partnership with Regional Logistics Teams. + Driving Trade optimization and compliance, including but not limited to the utilization of FTZ's, Bonded Warehouses & Carriers, DDB's and all associated tools and processes. + Oversees Center-of-Excellence team that guides launch, audit, and new capability deployment across global logistics facilities. + Oversees logistics planning in the Global SIOP process, executing through regional logistics teams. + Guide sizable, cross-functional logistics operations teams to meet or exceed Global KPI. + Develop and launch Global operational policies and procedures for optimized performance and profit. + Forge solid Global relationships with internal and external business partners, building consensus across multiple organizational levels. + Manages order fulfillment from stored inventory, meeting customer requirements and inspection/testing processes; order shipments within time commitments in the most cost effective manner; communication with customers regarding any fulfillment issues or problems. + Manages inventory through periodic and special inventory counts, reconciles discrepancies, and ensures accuracy including returns of defective materials. + Ensures documentation is complete, accurate and processed appropriately. + Plans, develops and/or implements quality assurance procedures. Evaluates quality deviations to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures. Surveys customers periodically regarding accuracy, quality, efficiency, adherence to specifications and overall customer experience. + Ensures work area is well maintained and in compliance with all safety regulations and department policies including ESD requirements. + Ensures equipment is safe, in good repair, functioning appropriately and calibrated to be in full compliance with required military, ISO and other quality standards. Participates in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new equipment or equipment enhancements. + Creates, reviews, updates, presents, manages and/or contributes to statistical, narrative, financial regularly scheduled and ad hoc written and oral reports and presentations. + Assesses productivity measures, identifies trends and monitors department activity. + Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics. + Other duties as assigned. **Job Level Specifications:** + Provides leadership and direction through managers and senior managers. Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams. + Establishes policies appropriate for the function. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies and practices. Adapts and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies. Responsible for efficient utilization of significant resources within the function. + Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed with a long-term perspective. Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities. + Collaborates with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company. Routinely conducts briefings for senior management and/or key external contacts. Influences senior management or customers/clients. + Decisions likely have serious impact on the overall success or failure of a function.
