We are seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) with 1-3 years of experience in the design of land development projects. The successful candidate will join our dynamic engineering team to assist in the design, planning, and execution of various land development projects. The EIT will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to contribute to the development of residential, commercial, and industrial sites, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

The functional areas and responsibilities of a Civil Engineer in Training are as follows:
1. Design and Planning: Collaborate with senior engineers to develop preliminary and detailed design plans for land development projects, including grading, drainage, roadways, utilities, and stormwater management systems.
2. Site Analysis: Conduct site investigations and assessments to gather data on site conditions, topography, soil properties, and environmental factors that may impact the design process.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Assist in preparing permit applications and ensure that designs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards related to land development and environmental protection.
4. CAD and Software: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create accurate and comprehensive engineering drawings, schematics, and plans.
5. Project Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and contractors, to integrate different aspects of the development project into a cohesive design.
6. Quantity Estimation: Assist in preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for project execution and maintain budgetary awareness throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Construction Support: Provide support during the construction phase by responding to requests for information (RFIs), reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits to ensure adherence to the approved design.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design calculations, reports, correspondence, and other project-related materials.
Requirements:Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
2. EIT certification REQUIRED
3. Proven experience (1-3 years) in land development engineering, including site design, grading, drainage, and utility layout.
4. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
5. Strong understanding of engineering principles, codes, regulations, and standards related to land development.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.
7. Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions.
8. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
10. Familiarity with stormwater management and erosion control practices is a plus.
