Distribution Center Training Specialist
Overview
As a Distribution Center Training Specialist, you would collaborate with Operations leadership and teams to increase the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of employees across all key distribution center roles. This role designs, facilitates, and governs operational and leadership training programs aligned to company values, goals, and performance expectations. Through formal needs assessments, observation, and data analysis, the role identifies performance gaps, evaluates training effectiveness, and recommends targeted individual and group development activities. In addition to hands-on facilitation, the Operations Training Supervisor is responsible for modernizing, standardizing, and sustaining the Distribution Center’s Training & Development system. This includes ownership of training materials, SOPs, and SharePoint libraries, ensuring clear documentation control, consistency, and a single source of truth. The role participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives to support, document, and sustain change and holds authority over training standards, programs, and documentation.
Schedule shift:
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess the training needs of the warehouse through job analysis, review of safety needs, performance against standards and consultation with managers.
- Collaborate with Operations Leadership to design, develop, and deliver training content, training materials, training modules, and teaching aids, as needed; including coordinating training on facility-wide subjects.
- Manage the updating of existing training media: PPTs, Training Aids, SOPs, Lucid Charts, SharePoint sites, etc.
- Data gathering and testing on Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Time Studies, Root Cause Analysis, Job Shadowing, etc.
Required Skill:
- Excellent communication, verbal and written; as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively listen and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Outstanding organization, time management and the ability to facilitate productive meetings and training sessions to small and large groups.
- Results oriented, motivated and ability to multi-task to drive simultaneous projects.
- Proficient working with a variety of subject matter such as technical, non-technical, soft skills training, etc. in a variety of contact center applications.
- Flexible: ably navigates within ambiguity; solution oriented.
- Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Stream, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote.
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills. Assess employees’ skills, talents, performance, productivity and prepare written evaluations with advice for improvement.
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc).
