Job Description

The Clinical Research Coordinator will play a key role in supporting oncology clinical trials by screening, recruiting, and consenting patients, conducting study visits, and contributing to data and regulatory activities. This part-time position offers flexibility of 1–2 days per week at a growing research site, with the potential for additional hours in the future and optional support at another nearby location.

Responsibilities

• Screen, recruit, and obtain informed consent from patients participating in oncology clinical trials.
• Perform chart reviews to identify eligible patients and confirm inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Conduct study visits, including taking vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (ECGs), and carrying out phlebotomy procedures.
• Support data entry into electronic data capture (EDC) systems and assist with query resolution to ensure accurate and complete study data.
• Collaborate with the data and regulatory team while also independently contributing to regulatory and documentation tasks as needed.
• Coordinate and schedule patient visits in alignment with study protocols and visit windows.
• Maintain detailed and organized study records, including source documents and case report forms.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff, patients, contract research organizations (CROs), and sponsors to facilitate smooth study operations.
• Participate in setting up and supporting a biospecimen study, including preparation for site start-up activities.
• Adhere to all study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and site standard operating procedures to protect patient safety and data integrity.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator in oncology.
• Demonstrated experience in chart review to identify and confirm patient eligibility for clinical trials.
• Proven ability to screen, recruit, and consent patients in a clinical research setting.
• Hands-on experience conducting study visits, including measuring vital signs, performing ECGs, and conducting phlebotomy.
• Strong understanding of clinical research processes and clinical trial operations.
• Ability to work part-time and reliably cover designated study days.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in clinical and research documentation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients and multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with data entry and query resolution in various electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
• Prior experience working with contract research organizations (CROs) and study sponsors.
• Familiarity with oncology study protocols and biospecimen-focused research.
• Ability to support multiple sites if desired, including a location outside Phoenix, to increase working hours.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a research environment.

Work Environment

This role is based at a clinical research site that is actively building its oncology and biospecimen study capabilities. The position is part-time, typically 1–2 days per week, with core hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays as the ideal schedule. Additional hours may become available as the site grows, and there is an optional opportunity to support another nearby site outside Phoenix for those seeking more work. The environment is collaborative, with support from data and regulatory teams, and involves direct patient interaction, use of clinical equipment such as ECG machines and phlebotomy supplies, and regular use of electronic data capture systems. Attire is expected to be professional and appropriate for a clinical research and patient-facing setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Tucson, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Tucson,AZ.
