Dental Assistant - Pediatric Dental Practice
We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing pediatric dental practice. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with children, creates a positive and comforting experience for patients and their families, and is committed to providing exceptional clinical support. If you are a team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for pediatric dentistry, we'd love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Assist the dentist and hygienist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Welcome and help children feel at ease throughout their visit by creating a fun, positive experience.
- Take digital dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations.
- Provide patient and parent education on oral hygiene, home care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Accurately document patient treatment and update clinical records.
- Assist with charting, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating with the front office as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the entire dental team to provide outstanding patient care and maintain an efficient workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Dental Assistant certification.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanor with a passion for working with children.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric dental assisting experience.
- Experience using Open Dental practice management software.
- Radiologic Proficiency Certification (must be completed within 90 days of hire).
- Coronal Polish Certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
