Speech Language Pathologist Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1970–$2020
• Location: Cottonwood, Arizona (ZIP 86326) – Gateway to the Verde Valley, ideal for Arizona healthcare professionals seeking outdoor recreation and a mild climate
• Healthcare Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital – Outpatient (85% Pediatric, 15% Adult) plus 1 day/week Adult Acute Care
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/27/2025 – End: 1/26/2026)
• Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Daily Patient Load: 12–14 patients
• Charting System: Cerner
• Dress Code: Business Casual
• Parking: Free onsite parking

Speech Language Pathologist Qualifications

• Active CCC-SLP certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
• Current BLS certification
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Experience with pediatric and adult outpatient populations preferred
• Ability to conduct FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) and Modified Barium Swallow Studies preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system
• Two professional references (one from most recent employer within the past year)
• First-time travel SLPs welcome to apply

Speech Language Pathologist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy to pediatric and adult outpatients, with one day per week in adult acute care
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
• Conduct assessments including FEES, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, and other relevant evaluations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records using Cerner
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and clinical skill set
