Install Scheduler

As an Install Scheduler/Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every project is staffed efficiently and runs smoothly from start to finish. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain installation schedules for all active roofing projects, ensuring optimal crew allocation and project coverage.
- Efficiently assign crews and subcontractors based on availability, project requirements, and skill sets.
- Schedule and dispatch roofing crews to job sites, providing clear details on job scope, timing, and location.
- Confirm installation appointments with customers and communicate any changes proactively.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to forecast manpower needs for upcoming months.
- Maintain a rolling look-ahead schedule to track project starts, milestones, and labor demands.
- Anticipate and adjust schedules for project overlaps, weather delays, or permitting issues.
- Track crew availability, certifications, travel logistics, and job-specific skill requirements to ensure proper resource alignment.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to confirm materials readiness for scheduled installations.
- Serve as the central liaison between project management, field teams, HR, and subcontractors, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Identify potential labor shortages, schedule conflicts, or bottlenecks and work with internal teams to implement solutions.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports on labor utilization, upcoming needs, and schedule adherence.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in installation or construction scheduling (roofing experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of field labor coordination in construction or skilled trades
- Familiarity with roofing systems, installation workflows, and jobsite readiness practices
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Smartsheet, JobNimbus, MS Project, Acculynx, or similar tools
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience reading construction drawings and understanding scopes of work
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Experience with union and non-union labor scheduling is a plus
- Familiarity with architectural products, HVAC, or other trades is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Ability to identify workforce trends and provide strategic labor planning insights
