Global Security Design & Engineering Intern, Spring 2026
Job Summary:
About the Role & Program
The Security Design and Engineering team powers the larger Global Security organization to help protect the people, assets, resources, and intellectual property of The Walt Disney Company against threats of all types. Our dynamic team is committed to developing, designing, and deploying technology applications across various areas of our enterprise. Our full spectrum of solutions includes the latest video and access management advancements, predictive analytics platforms, advanced perimeter security tools, visitor management, and even counter UAS (drones).
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area from January 2026 – June 2026.
What You Will Do
As part of the Global Security Design & Engineering (GSDE) Center of Excellence (COE), you will be responsible for the technical coordination and integration of Research & Development (R&D) and program activities.
As an intern on the team, you will have the opportunity to:
Assist GSDE Manager(s) and the Program Manager in physical security R&D testing, evaluation and documentation
Assist in facilitating establishing the COE process and governance model and general program development
Assist in organizing and facilitating COE communication, promotional and program activities
Assist with quality assurance and control, both with design documentation as well as field construction
Assisting in the resolution of questions arising from R&D testing
Provide technical input to other project team members as required to assist with program decision-making
Required Qualifications & Skills
Working knowledge and strong interest in learning physical security technology and software
Strong written and spoken communication skills – Experience drafting executive summaries
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams)
Ability to take direction, adapt to change, establish relationships, and work in a team environment
Comfortable taking initiative – Quick learner with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interest and desire to learn more about security and technology
Previous experience in research and development
Education
Junior or Senior preferred
Major or previous coursework in Engineering, Computer Science, Security or closely related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
This internship is an on-site position, but also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace for the days you may work from home.
Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program
