Assistant Dock Manager

ThriftBooks is currently hiring an Asst. Dock Manager for our 2nd Shift. This individual plays a key role in managing daily transportation schedules and inventory for a high-volume processing center that receives over 120 truckloads and 20 LTL shipments monthly. This position oversees forklift operations, dock and yard organization, and supports equipment maintenance and inventory accuracy. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for coordinating with corporate logistics teams and ensuring efficient inbound and outbound flow. The role also includes leadership responsibilities and serves as backup support for management when needed.

YOU’LL BE EXCITED ABOUT THIS ASSISTANT DOCK MANAGER ROLE
- You’ll work in a fast-paced, high energy warehouse processing center in a variety of different functions including driving continuous improvement throughout all departmental operations by focusing on safety, production goals, problem-solving, and team-building with your warehouse team members.
- You’ll stay active throughout your entire shift in our fast-paced warehouse environment and will monitor production reports to ensure hourly KPI’s are met and/or exceeded.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR APPLICANTS WHO
- Have two to five years of previous logistics experience in transportation or inventory management
- Are highly reliable and responsible
- Bring a positive and respectful attitude every day
- Have excellent computer skills in Microsoft office applications
- Are Forklift Operator certified and/or have familiarity with dock safety protocols
- Are physically able to work 8 hours a day, standing, walking, bending, and lifting to 30 pounds
