Bucking Technician (FA Card Required)
Position Summary The Bucking Technician is responsible for removing cannabis flower from harvested plants (bucking) in preparation for drying, trimming, and further processing. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and strict adherence to quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable performing repetitive tasks, and committed to maintaining product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove (buck) cannabis buds from stems and branches in accordance with company SOPs.
- Handle harvested plants carefully to preserve trichome integrity and overall quality.
- Sort and separate plant material by size and grade as directed.
- Weigh and record product accurately in compliance with state tracking systems (e.g., METRC, BioTrack, etc.).
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace.
- Follow all state regulatory requirements and company compliance procedures.
- Assist with additional post‑harvest tasks including trimming, hang‑down, packaging, or waste processing as needed.
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets.
- Previous cannabis cultivation or post‑harvest experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements for extended periods.
- Comfortable standing or sitting for long shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
- Must meet all state requirements for cannabis employment (badging, background check, age requirement).
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.
- Familiarity with cannabis handling best practices.
- Experience in fast‑paced production or agricultural environments.
- Knowledge of state compliance tracking systems.
