Guest Services Director

POSITION SUMMARY

The Guest Services Director is responsible for building, recruiting, and developing a fun, relational, and spiritually growing team of volunteers and volunteer leaders who create an exceptional guest experience every weekend at Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC). In all actions, reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Identify, coach, and empower volunteer leaders to take ownership of key Guest Services areas
• Create clear pathways for onboarding, training, and leadership development of volunteers.
• Provide ongoing care, encouragement, coaching, and pastoral support to team leaders and members, fostering strong relationships and team unity. Cultivate a healthy, engaged team culture where volunteers are known, developed, and growing in their relationships with Jesus and with one another.
• Champion and implement a clear, compelling vision for an exceptional and welcoming guest experience across all environments.
• Establish and maintain quality standards for all Guest Services teams, ensuring every guest is welcomed, informed, valued, served with excellence, and feels invited from the moment they arrive.
• Oversee and manage all Guest Services environments, including Parking, New Here Start Here, Greeters, Ushers, Information, Volunteer Central, and Hospitality
• Develop and manage the Guest Services budget with stewardship and alignment to ministry goals.
• Collaborate with ministry leaders (Kids, Students, etc.) to ensure a cohesive and excellent campus-wide experience.
• Stay current in leadership, volunteer engagement, and guest experience best practices through ongoing learning and development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

May directly supervise Guest Services Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; approving time records and time off requests; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment and weekend services. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

QUALIFICATIONS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education and training that has equipped them for vocational ministry in a large ministry context.
• Three years of full-time experience working in a leadership role in a church or related setting leading leaders and teams through healthy ministry growth and progress.
• Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership.
• Innovative thinker demonstrating resourcefulness regarding both people and projects.
• Strategic in nature with ability to drive projects and plans through to completion.
• Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision
• Effective team building skills and ability to motivate others.
• Effective customer service, relational and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Four years of full-time related experience in a multi-site church setting of over 2000 members/attendees
