Job Description
About Pravati Capital
Pravati Capital is a pioneer in nationwide litigation finance solutions for law firms and commercial litigants. The firm operates established funds, maintains a proven underwriting platform, and has a seasoned team in place. Pravati is seeking a CFO/COO to take the reins of the firm's financial and operational engine, stepping into a functioning system and elevating it, not building from scratch.
Role Overview
The CFO/COO will own financial strategy, fund finance, and day-to-day business operations. This executive will partner closely with the CEO and investment leadership to optimize fund performance, enhance operational efficiency, and scale Pravati's platform to support a growing portfolio of litigation finance products.
The ideal candidate combines deep financial expertise with strong operational discipline, M&A transaction experience, and a track record of driving execution through structured operating systems and clear accountability.
CFO Responsibilities
- Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the firm and its fund vehicles.
- Oversee fund accounting, investor reporting, capital calls, distributions, and NAV calculations.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, prime brokers, fund administrators, and banking partners.
- Design and maintain the firm's capital structure and liquidity management framework, ensuring efficient deployment of investment capital.
- Develop and maintain financial models, scorecards, and dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into performance.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, fund covenants, and reporting obligations.
- Support capital-raising efforts through investor-ready financial materials, due diligence packages, and direct engagement with prospective investors and lenders.
COO / Operational Leadership Responsibilities
- Drive day-to-day operational execution across underwriting, portfolio management, legal operations, HR, IT, and administration.
- Maintain and optimize the firm's existing operating system (EOS-based), including facilitating quarterly and annual planning sessions, maintaining the scorecard, and ensuring accountability across departments.
- Own operational KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the right people are in the right seats, remove obstacles, and promote open, honest communication across departments.
- Oversee vendor relationships, technology systems, and office operations.
- Partner with department heads to align priorities, resolve cross-functional issues, and maintain execution cadence.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Lead or co-lead all merger, acquisition, and strategic transaction activity on behalf of the firm.
- Manage financial due diligence, deal structuring, valuation analysis, and integration planning for potential acquisitions or partnerships.
- Evaluate inorganic growth opportunities and present actionable recommendations to the CEO.
- Coordinate with external counsel, investment bankers, and advisors through deal execution and post-close integration.
Qualifications
- Progressive experience in finance and/or operations leadership, with at least 5 years in a CFO, COO, or equivalent C-suite role.
- Demonstrated M&A experience is required — must have led or materially contributed to at least two completed transactions (buy-side or sell-side).
- Background in private credit, litigation finance, alternative investments, or fund management is strongly preferred.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA (or equivalent advanced degree/credential) is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of corporate and fund finance, including forecasting, capital planning, and performance measurement.
- Strong operational acumen with proven ability to drive execution through structured operating systems, using data, scorecards, and clear accountability.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a disciplined, data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities; comfortable leading established teams and engaging directly with investors, lenders, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborative leadership style with the confidence to hold teams accountable and drive results.
- High level of integrity, judgment, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Must be based in Arizona or willing to relocate to Arizona prior to start date. This is a firm requirement.
Compensation
Total compensation ranges from $150,000 to $500,000 annually, structured as a combination of:
- Base salary (commensurate with experience)
- Performance-based commission tied to fund and firm milestones
- Equity participation in the firm
Final structure will be determined based on candidate experience, package preference, and alignment with firm goals.
How to Apply
Qualified candidates should submit a resume and brief cover letter outlining their relevant experience in financial leadership, operational management, and M&A transactions. Preference will be given to candidates currently based in Arizona.
