Construction Laborer

Hello! We are currently hiring for Construction Laborer here in Phoenix, AZ!

Job Description

Join our team as a General Laborer, where you will be fabricating and installing various types of ornamental metal and glass. This role involves working both in the shop and in the field, performing general labor, construction, and installation duties. You will be assisting in building and assembling metal and steel panels for a diverse range of customers. The position requires flexibility to work indoors and outdoors, and the ability to travel to job sites using your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install ornamental metal and glass components.
• Perform general labor and construction tasks both in the shop and on-site.
• Assist in building and assembling metal and steel panels.
• Utilize power tools, hand tools, and basic machinery effectively.
• Travel to job sites and work in the shop as required.
• Lift and handle materials weighing over 50 pounds in various environments.
• Ensure the proper loading and unloading of trucks.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility.
• Prepare and crate parts as needed.
• Participate in sanding and prepping metal components.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
• Ability to use saws and other cutting tools.
• Experience with power tools and hand tools.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
• Willingness to train on and certify in forklift operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in grinding, polishing, and sanding.
• Ability to crate parts and make crates out of wood.
• Familiarity with pallet and shrink wrapping.
• Openness to cross-training in roles such as welding and glazing.

Work Environment

• Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, designing and fabricating custom railings.
• The shop does not have air conditioning, so appropriate attire includes steel-toed shoes and long pants from day one.
• The typical work schedule is from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with the potential for overtime, including Saturdays.
• Be prepared to work in various locations such as hotels, resorts, and student housing across different cities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
