Douglas Outdoors is seeking a full time detail oriented, skilled, and experienced fishing rod builder. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency. The job is building prototypes and working with the team to find the best production way to ensuring every Douglas rod meets the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble fishing rods using various components including rod blanks, guides, reel seats, handles, thread, and finishes
- Wrap guides with thread using manual or powered wrapping machines
- Apply epoxy and other finishing materials to guide wraps and rod components
- Measure, cut, and fit rod handles and grips, inspect all components for quality assurance before, during, and after assembly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization for the rod-building workstation
- Follow specific design specifications and custom orders with precision while meeting daily and weekly production targets without compromising quality
Qualifications
- Must have experience building fishing rods
- Strong hand eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Attention to detail and a commitment to to producing high quality work
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and blueprints
- Comfortable working with small parts and specialized tools
Hours
- 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday
Wages
- $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
