Key Responsibilities

· Assemble complete chassis builds according to Fat Fender Garage standards, drawings, and build sheets.

· Mate powertrain systems (engine and transmission) to chassis, ensuring precise alignment and secure installation.

· Install and adjust suspension systems — including control arms, coilovers, sway bars, and steering linkages — for optimal geometry and function.

· Bend, route, and install stainless steel brake lines and fuel lines with clean, show-quality fit and finish.

· Set up and assemble solid rear axle configurations, ensuring correct pinion angle, alignment, and torque specs.

· Mount fuel tanks, brake components, and other underbody systems as part of chassis final assembly.

· Maintain strict adherence to build timelines, quality standards, and safety procedures.

· Collaborate with the Operations team to communicate build progress, parts needs, and potential fitment challenges.

· Conduct post-assembly checks for leaks, alignment, and component functionality before final delivery.

· Keep work areas organized, tools maintained, and documentation current in the build tracking system.

Qualifications

· 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive assembly, hot rod / custom fabrication, or restoration work.

· Proficient in suspension setup, brake plumbing, and mechanical systems installation.

· Strong understanding of powertrain and drivetrain assembly.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, build sheets, and torque specifications.

· Experience with stainless line bending, AN fittings, and hydraulic systems preferred.

· Must be self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

· Familiarity with chassis jigs, alignment tools, and lift operation required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

· Full-time, on-site position in Gilbert, AZ.

· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work safely with power tools, lifts, and fabrication equipment.

· Must maintain a clean and organized work environment consistent with Fat Fender’s shop standards.
