Quality Control Technician

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Technician for our Arizona location, conveniently situated approximately 10 minutes from Glendale, AZ.

Scope of Position: As the Quality Technician at Phlex, you will be responsible for supporting quality control and assurance processes throughout the filling and packaging lifecycle. Your primary goal is to perform inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure products meet regulatory standards, customer and brand expectations, and internal quality specifications.

Principal Responsibilities:

Quality Control Support:

• Perform quality control checks to monitor the production process at various stages.
• Conduct routine inspections and report any non-conformance to the Quality Manager.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including test results and deviations.
• Assist in documenting quality procedures and specifications as directed by the Quality Manager.

Regulatory Compliance Support:

• Follow established protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Report any observed deviations or potential compliance issues to the appropriate personnel.

Supplier Quality Assistance:

• Verify the quality of raw materials and ingredients upon receipt.
• Assist in collecting and organizing supplier documentation as needed.

Training Participation:

• Participate in training sessions on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Support efforts to promote a quality-conscious culture within the production team.

Continuous Improvement Support:

• Identify and report potential areas for process improvement to enhance product quality.
• Assist in implementing corrective actions under the guidance of the Quality Manager.

Customer Complaints and Investigations Assistance:

• Assist in collecting data and samples related to customer complaints.
• Support the Quality Manager in investigating issues and implementing corrective measures.

Competencies:

• Previous experience in quality control or testing within the supplements or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards (e.g., GMP, FDA).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document and communicate quality-related issues effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and support cross-functional teams in maintaining quality standards.

Supervisory Responsibility:

There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role.

Work Environment:

Working 100% of the time in a production facility setting. Subject to noise from machinery used from time to time. Exposed to customer products when operating and testing machinery.

• Standing or walking for extended periods during testing and inspections.
• Frequent use of hands for operating laboratory instruments, measuring, and recording data.

• Reaching, bending, or crouching to access equipment, materials, or storage areas.
• Wearing required PPE, such as lab coats, gloves, hairnets, masks, and safety glasses.
• Working near or handling raw materials, powders, and other ingredients in a controlled environment.
• Tolerance for exposure to temperature-controlled environments and potential allergens

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime based on production needs.

Travel:

There is little to no travel required with this position.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Food Science, Quality Management).
• Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager) are desirable.
• Experience in the dietary supplement industry a plus.
