Senior Project Manager (Electrical Contracting/Electrical Construction)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead electrical construction and renovation projects. This position plays a critical role in project execution, financial performance, team coordination, and client relationships. The role expands to include mentoring project teams, supporting leadership initiatives, and overseeing larger, more complex projects.
Primary Job Responsibilities
• Procure and manage electrical construction and renovation projects from start to completion
• Prepare, issue, and maintain project documentation including purchase orders, submittals, invoices, subcontracts, timesheets, RFIs, and change orders
• Understand and manage project billing schedules and ensure timely billings
• Monitor and manage project cash flow
• Utilize and maintain project reporting systems
• Participate in estimating activities as required
• Review contracts and subcontracts for scope, compliance, and risk
• Determine and coordinate manpower requirements
• Observe and monitor on-site job progress
• Develop, foster, and maintain professional relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Participate in company marketing, trade organizations, and community involvement activities
• Exemplify company values and a commitment to excellence
• Assist and support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Estimators across multiple projects
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members
• Monitor staff performance and participate in performance reviews
• Play a leadership role in operational or leadership team initiatives
• Support and carry out strategic programs and directives set by branch leadership
Qualifications
• 5–10 years of experience managing and estimating projects valued between $1M–$25M
• Equivalent experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and comfort with project reporting systems
• Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
• Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Energetic, positive, and solutions-oriented mindset
Technical & Industry Knowledge
• Practical construction knowledge required; electrical industry experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
• Experience managing manpower, schedules, budgets, and project documentation
Education & Experience
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
