Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school learners from August 3 to May 21 in a vibrant educational community near Phoenix, AZ. This full-time opportunity focuses on working directly with students who have emotional disabilities and other eligibility needs, especially those navigating challenges with prosocial interactions and self-regulation. You’ll be a valued resource for creating supportive learning environments that reflect an understanding of at-risk, limited English proficient, exceptional, and ethnically diverse students.

Preferred candidates will bring initiative, compassion, and expertise to a traditional Special Education setting.

Desired Qualifications and Licensure:

• Valid Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License
• Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
• Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card
• Experience with students facing emotional and behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with federal, state, and district special services requirements, including documentation and implementation
• Awareness of cultural, socio-economic, and linguistic diversity
• E.E.E.I. training or willingness to participate in staff development

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with guidelines
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Utilize effective instructional practices to facilitate student growth
• Foster skills in prosocial behavior and self-regulation for at-risk and exceptional learners
• Maintain compliance and accurate records for all assigned students

Additional Details:

• This is an onsite position only; remote (VOCO) options are not available
