About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Innovation Product Manager to revolutionize commercial vehicle safety and efficiency using cutting-edge technologies such as weigh station bypass solutions, driver compliance systems, and fleet safety platforms. In this role, you will drive the evolution of our product lines by identifying growth opportunities, developing breakthrough features, and setting the industry standard for safety and operational excellence in transportation.
Your role is pivotal in translating market trends, regulatory insights, and user feedback into a comprehensive product strategy that supports current solutions and pioneers next-generation technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, design, and marketing teams to bring innovative ideas from concept to market success. This is a hybrid position based out of our Phoenix, AZ office
Essential Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmapping
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for our new product portfolio, aligning innovation opportunities with our company mission, market demand, and customer needs.
- Build robust business cases that outline strategic benefits, ROI, and alignment with PrePass’s mission to streamline fleet operations and enhance road safety.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership, ensuring a customer-centric and forward-thinking approach.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory shifts to keep PrePass at the forefront of innovation in the commercial vehicle sector.
Research & Validation
- Lead market and competitor research to uncover industry gaps and identify unmet needs.
- Engage with customers regularly and conduct comprehensive consumer and market research to identify, size, and prioritize opportunities.
- Oversee product validation through consumer testing, scientific analysis, and feasibility studies.
Product Development & Execution
- Manage the entire lifecycle of innovative product features—from ideation and prototyping to launch.
- Leverage agile methodologies to iterate quickly on product ideas, validate concepts with pilot programs, and support rollouts that drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering to implement and refine processes that support rapid prototyping, testing, and iterative development.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as a thought leader and advocate for innovation within PrePass by presenting the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to executive leadership and partner organizations.
- Lead cross-functional brainstorming sessions and innovation workshops to energize teams and drive creative solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation by embracing new technologies and creative problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product management with a focus on innovation or technology-driven product development, preferably within the transportation, OEM, logistics, or safety technology sectors.
- Demonstrated success in conceptualizing, developing, and executing high-impact products that generate strong market demand and turn disruptive ideas into tangible solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive consensus in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to executives, external partners, and advisory boards.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Azure DevOps, and other product management tools.
- Experience managing a full product lifecycle from inception to end of life.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
