Dietitian Job Details

• Location: Peridot, Arizona 85542 (Arizona dietitian jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Critical Access Hospital (Inpatient & Outpatient)
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Hospital Dietitian
• Start Date: August 4, 2025
• End Date: November 1, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts per week (40 hours/week)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250–$2310 per week
• Patient Caseload: 9-12 patients per day

Dietitian Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited college or university
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical dietitian experience in a healthcare facility (2-3 years preferred)
• Proven experience in medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for chronic diseases and patient nutrition education
• Experience working with tribal or Native American populations (required)
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification (preferred)
• Strong adaptability and willingness to take on new responsibilities
• Background in food service management and outpatient clinical nutrition

Dietitian Responsibilities

• Deliver medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for both inpatients and outpatients, including assessment, nutrition care planning, counseling, education, and follow-up
• Serve as a clinical nutrition expert, managing care for complex and high-risk patients
• Provide in-service nutrition education and training to nursing staff, medical staff, students, and healthcare professionals
• Customize patient dietary plans based on nutritional needs, food intolerances, and preferences
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team meetings to develop and update patient care plans
• Conduct quality assurance checks in the food service department
• Prepare documentation and reports for regulatory and accreditation purposes
• Offer nutrition-related presentations and community education
• Perform additional clinical dietitian duties as assigned
