**Team Overview:**

The Municipal Trading Department within Edward Jones is primarily responsible for providing our Financial Advisors with a broad supply of highly diversified and fairly priced municipal bonds that are used to fulfill the unique needs of every one of our more than 8 million clients. Our goal is to identify and analyze opportunities in the marketplace while always seeking to provide the best execution possible on every trade we handle.
**What You Will Do:**
As a Trader II in the Municipal Trading Department, expectations are that you would have a passion for capital markets, excellent risk management skills, and be able to make capital commitments with minimal oversight. Additionally, an attention to detail is a must as your decisions can negatively impact our clients, while exposing the firm to significant regulatory, financial, and reputational risk.
Responsibilities include:
+ Execute odd-lot retail client liquidations, bid wanteds, and external offerings, effectively managing corresponding inventory positions with limited to moderate retail-structured trading flows and capital commitments
+ Independently perform all daily trading-related responsibilities, including pricing evaluation and position management
+ Proficient demonstration of capital markets analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques
+ Ensure best execution and compliance with all firm and industry regulatory requirements
+ Effective application of internal and external trading systems and related tools
+ Deliver client service excellence by researching and resolving branch inquiries, including more complicated requests as needed
+ Support operational excellence initiatives
+ Develop internal and external networks, including dealer relationships

**Skills/Requirements**
**What Experience You Need:**
+ B.A./B.S. degree in business, economics, finance, or quantitative related field
+ 3+ months of financial service experience required
+ Series 7 and 66 required; additional desk specific licenses are needed within 6 months of hire (52, 55/57, CSI)
+ Successful demonstration of problem-solving techniques with a proficient level of authority complexity, and risk
+ Strong math skills; accuracy is important
+ Strong communication and time management skills
+ Position is not remote eligible, will be based in office in either St. Louis, MO or Tempe, AZ
**What Could Set You Apart:**
+ Capital markets experience
+ Client Service and/or financial industry experience
+ CFP, MBA, CFA, CPA or working towards designation(s)
+ Proficiency in non-trading applications or coding language (i.e. Microsoft Suite, Power BI, Tableau, VBA, SQL)
*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
**Current INTERNAL home-based associates:** While this role is posted as hybrid, **if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status** . Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
