Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Medical Oncology
Description
This contract, on-site position offers a unique opportunity for entry-level professionals to gain hands-on experience in a thriving medical practice environment.
In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to patient care by diagnosing and treating various oncological conditions. As part of our collaborative team, you will work closely with experienced healthcare professionals to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and evaluations
- Develop and implement treatment plans for oncology patients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in oncology treatments
- Provide support and education to patients and their families
- Document patient interactions and treatment progress accurately
- Participate in case reviews and team meetings
- Adhere to medical guidelines and ethical standards in practice
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Arizona
- Strong interest in medical oncology and patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of current oncology practices is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-5p
Backup weekend call shifts required
Setting: Primarily outpatient, some inpatient
Duties: Diagnosing and evaluating new patients, ordering and managing chemotherapy and treatment, reading diagnostic imaging, overseeing infusions, and inpatient rounding
Participation in tumor boards is required
Support Staff: NPs, MAs, RNs, program coordinators, infusion schedulers, referral and authorization coordinators
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified
