Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join a growing acute care team. This role is ideal for nurses with strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide care for patients with conditions such as post-operative recovery, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infections
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5
Administer and monitor medications, including Heparin drips
Perform wound care, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes
Maintain strict sterile technique (critical requirement)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
Float to Med Surg/Telemetry units as needed
Unit Details
Beds: 22 private rooms
Patient Ratio: 1:4–5
Charting System: Cerner
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Floating: Required (Med Surg/Tele units; travelers first to float)
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience
Level 1 Trauma experience – REQUIRED
Strong competency in sterile procedures
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Ability to pass:
Dysrhythmia (DYS) exam (2 attempts required)
SIMs Lab (sterile technique assessment)
