Currently seeking Emergency Medical Technicians – Paramedic (EMT-P) to support the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. EMT-P will, under the direction and supervision of the Emergency Department Chief (Medical Director), perform the following duties:

1. Staff the Emergency Department (ED) Registration Desk;

2. Register presenting ED patients into the PIMC / IHS computer system and scheduling package;

3. Perform visual assessments of any presenting or waiting ED patients. If upon visual assessment, the EMT-P feels the patient requires medical or nursing attention, the EMT-P will notify the PIMC ED Charge Nurse;

4. Perform other duties as assigned in the ED, all within the EMT-P’s scope of practice. These duties may include:

a. Assist and perform patient procedures across all age groups

b. Prioritize and implement clinical corrective actions (as directed by Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, and within the scope of the EMT-P)

c. Document interventions, patient response to interventions, and any changes in patient condition

d. Manage equipment and supplies

e. Identifies abnormal vital signs when taken and reports findings to RN or physician

f. Provides safe and timely transport of patients to other areas of the hospital with the exception of independently transporting a critical care patient.

Requirements/Qualifications :

1. Active unrestricted EMT-Paramedic Certification

2. Current certifications in BLS and ACLS, and PALS

3. College transcripts; conferred degrees and certified training in the field

4. Two (2) letter of references from current or previous employers

5. Certificate of Immunization

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
