Behavior Coach - BHRF
The behavior coach will provide behavioral support to members of Miss A’s by working with members to help them improve their lives with a focus on behavior and habit change. This coaching process typically involves self-analysis, goal setting, action planning, and, most importantly, behavioral follow-through. The behavior coach will meet member’s weekly unless a need for increased sessions is identified.
Responsibilities:
- The behavior coach will model, mentor and support members by working directly with them and Miss A’s BHTs.
- The behavior coach will focus on increasing skills to better meet the needs of the member with behavioral and/or emotional issues as outlined in their treatment plan.
- Work collaboratively with Miss A’s to identify members in need of early behavioral intervention.
- The behavior coach will develop plans and coach BHTs/parents in the implementation of the plan.
- Provide small group social thinking and mindfulness instruction to members involved in behavior coaching.
- Collaborate with Miss A’s on problematic behaviors to ensure members success.
- Collect and summarize behavioral data collaboratively with Miss A’s.
- Make recommendations about adjustments that should be made in the treatment plan/program to support and meet member need.
- Assist with crisis intervention and prevention as needed.
- Model behavior management strategies for BHTs/parents for successfully addressing challenging behavior.
- Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by the state, federal and contractual agreements in a timely manner.
- Give updates of member’s progress to Miss A’s for CFT and team meetings.
Qualifications/Education
- Experience working with high needs children 12 – 18 years of age
- On-going Education
- 5 year minimum experience as Lead BHT or equivalent

- Valid AZ driver’s license w/clean MVD record
- CPI/Prevention and Support (if alone with member)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 2-step Tuberculosis clearance
- Hands on CPR and First Aid (if alone with member)
