Field Calibrations, Inc. is a leader in test, precision measurement and diagnostic equipment calibration services, known for our commitment to accuracy, reliability, and innovation. We are currently expanding our team and are in search of a dedicated Metrology Calibration Technician who will primarily work in the field. Position Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Metrology Calibration Technician, where you will focus primarily on performing on-site calibrations across the Phoenix Metropolitan area with our mobile calibration team. This hybrid role also includes in-lab calibration duties, offering a diverse and engaging work environment. The role is ideal for those who enjoy working directly on equipment in various locations, ensuring precision and compliance in real-world settings. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site calibrations of electrical, mechanical, and electronic instruments within the Phoenix Metropolitan area, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer specifications.
Perform in-lab calibrations as required, maintaining the flexibility to work across different environments.
Manage and execute routine maintenance and repairs on both field and lab calibration equipment.
Generate and maintain precise calibration records and certificates for all services performed.
Develop and implement calibration procedures and protocols, adapting them for field conditions when necessary.
Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any calibration discrepancies and enhance accuracy and reliability.
Offer technical support and advice to customers on-site, helping them understand calibration processes and equipment maintenance.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in metrology and calibration technology, as well as applicable industry standards. Qualifications:
Must HAVE at least 2 years of experience in metrology laboratory settings and/or field services roles.
Very strong preference for PMEL or TMDE qualified individuals.
Associate degree in Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field; Bachelors degree or professional certifications such as ASQ CCT preferred.
Expertise in using calibration equipment and measurement techniques for a variety of instruments.
Knowledge of industry standards like ISO IEC 17025 and ISO 9001.
Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and detail-oriented skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively both independently and within a team.
Proficient in computer applications for calibration documentation and record-keeping.
