MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation. We specialize in all forms of water and wastewater general contracting including Job Order Contracting, Construction Manager at Risk, Design-Bid-Build, and Design-Build throughout Arizona, Texas, Utah, and New Mexico.
MGC Contractors, Inc is looking for a Concrete Superintendent for our Arizona Division in the Phoenix metro area.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications.
- Needs to have the knowledge to be able to lay out large and small concrete structures.
- Needs to have the knowledge of building water bearing structures.
- Coordinate and assist with the scheduling of the projects site logistics plan and manpower.
- Manage effectively crews of 3-20 people.
- Develop and train future Foremen and Superintendents.
- Coordinate with the team on the pay request process.
- Monitor project costs and job cost reports. Ability to manage Job Cost Reporting with Project Team.
- Help implement and monitor safety for all on-site personnel, and subcontractors. Including all Necessary paperwork and filing in job folders.
- Review, approve and help order material and equipment needed.
- Any and all other duties assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone. The ability to read printed materials, signs and directions. The stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time Salary position. Occasional long hours, weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least five (5) years of experience constructing concrete structures and water bearing structures on water/wastewater projects required.
- The ability to navigate a computer and the ability to respond timely to e-mail.
