Safety Assistant

Position Summary: Supports the EHS Supervisor in implementing and maintaining the plant safety program, focusing on documentation, inspections, and safety compliance. Job Status Full-Time Hourly/ Non-exempt Yuma, Az Night Shift Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive safety inspections Assist in safety documentation for new production campaigns Investigate incident causes and develop preventative measures Promote and evaluate safe working procedures Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety regulations Maintain accurate safety records and documentation Facilitate weekly safety meetings and training Provide on-call support as needed Qualifications Strong communication skills Ability to work independently Proficient in safety documentation Knowledge of company safety policies Valid driver's license Spanish/English bilingual proficiency preferred Required Skills Wear required personal protective equipment Follow written and verbal instructions Interact effectively with management and staff Prioritize tasks efficiently Understand safety, environmental, and quality systems Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods Navigate stairs and industrial environments Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Perform physical tasks (bending, reaching, squatting) Work in various temperatures and conditions Flexible scheduling (days, nights, weekends) Working Conditions Industrial manufacturing environment Rotational weekend on-call duty Requires wearing safety equipment Potential exposure to outdoor and indoor work settings Preferred Qualifications Safety certification Manufacturing safety experience Technical understanding of safety protocols Education High school diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in safety or related field preferred
