Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 (Arizona healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)
• Position Type: Travel RN (locum tenens)
• Start Date: December 29, 2025
• End Date: March 30, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:3
• Electronic Health Record: Medhost
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2090 - $2140

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona (or compact state for travel nursing jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or Telemetry units preferred
• Ability to float to Medical Surgical and Telemetry units as needed
• Strong clinical skills in adult and geriatric patient care
• Required documentation: Resume, self-assessment, skills checklist

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac and complex medical conditions, including STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, COPD, sepsis, CABG, acute respiratory failure, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and post-surgical cases
• Monitor and assess patient status, respond to changes in condition, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform advanced cardiac monitoring
• Accurately document patient care in the Medhost EHR system
• Float to Medical Surgical and Telemetry units as required
• Participate in call requirements and weekend coverage as scheduled
