Description

The staff pharmacist is responsible for interpreting all prescriptions. In addition, they provide counseling and advice to patients and prescribers. Supervision of technicians and providing final quality checks are important roles for a Belmar Pharmacist. The staff pharmacist will support Belmar pharmacy management in carrying out the mission of the pharmacy.

• Interpret prescription orders and input into the computer system
• Advise patients and doctors about our products
• Checking compounding formulas and update lot and expiration dates
• Perform final check on all prescriptions
• Supervise technicians
• Perform initial interpretation of prescriptions
• Very that prescription was entered into the computer against the hard copy
• Accept verbal orders from voice mail, IVR, and direct phone contacts
• Answer phones as needed
• Monitor compliance with Belmar Policies and Procedures

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Pharmacy Degree & Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in the state of practice; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.

- Prescription Interpretation & Verification: Minimum 2+ years of experience interpreting and verifying prescription orders, including final quality checks.

- Patient & Prescriber Communication: Proven ability to provide clear, accurate counseling to patients and prescribers; experience handling verbal orders via voicemail, IVR, and direct calls.

- Compounding Oversight: Familiarity with checking compounding formulas and updating lot/expiration dates; 1+ year experience preferred.

- Technician Supervision: Experience supervising pharmacy technicians in a retail or compounding pharmacy setting.

- System Accuracy: Demonstrated ability to verify prescription data entry against hard copies; attention to detail in pharmacy software systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Youngtown, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
